I have this big problem bout chumchum. Before he used to be disgusted with his wastes... like yung poopoo nya and weewee. Pero lately I noticed na para kaming nasa amazing race everytime he eliminates. Kasi if naunhan nya ako he'll eat his poopoo or lick his wee wee... According to what I've read sa previous thread regarding this matter sabi ni bunnie the reason behind this behavior is pag naiignore sila. but impossible naman sa case namin coz halos 24/7 kaming nakatutok sa kanya.. my boyfriend and i even take turns in watching over him tapos kung kailangan talaga nya maiwan which is max na 2 hrs siguro with a maid pa. haay what caused this kaya? and ano kaya possible na remedy.. pls help thanks

tzus are prone to coprophagia (ingesting of stool). i used to give my tzu deter which is a coprophagia treatment. it did help but when stopped giving them deter.. about a few months they are at it again... ewww..
anyway, cheryll suggested spinach, i mix spinach with their food and that does the job... something happens to their poo that they are simply repelled LOL!!

with me kasi when i prepare the spinach i dunk it in warm water.. not to the point na boiling, maging limp yung veggie eh.. then i put sa iced water.. para maretain yung cripiness.. (err.. well you have choice here.. feel ko lang mas okay sya.. LOL!) i blender it and mix it with liver, parang ulam nila sa dog food at night. if you are feeding dog food, try 15% - 20% nung dog food spinach... some dogs don't take to it immediately .. so better siguro konti konti lang muna. the liver in their meal, or beef, chicken etc helps mask the spinach.. .. for some reason some tzu who do not like spinach reminds me of kids who do not like veggies.. deter i buy from www.petedge.com but i think minsan meron sa dog city...

Hi Jace!
Maraming reason why some dogs eat their feces.
Some say it's genetics, some say it's because they lack minerals and some say it being KSP.
Maraming theory pero wala pang proven sa kanilang lahat.
The best is to try to do the advise of Honeybabe and bantayan niyo si Chum2 tuwing oras na to eliminate.
Dapat, kung mag poop na siya, praise mo siya. Ako, i just say, "good poop" tapos clean ko na agad. None of the rainwater residents eat at this time. They are trained na rin.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I have a similar problem. My dog usually licks his wee-wee.
I read the product information about Deter but there was no mention about urine part.
Thanks

male dogs usually "taste" females urine, LOL! Never seen or heard till now of males that drink their own wee wee.
