Hi All, I have recently relocated to the US due to work... I have a shihtzu in Manila but left him with my family since I do not want to stress him out with travelling. He is also showered with so much love and attention at home that it will break everyone's heart (including his!) to bring him over. Being here for 5 months now, I am settled in and would like to get a shihtzu again for companionship at home. I have searched a lot of websites and checked out different breeders, including animal shelters for available shihtzus, but had not been successful. When I went back to Manila 2 weeks ago, my husband's brother in law mentioned that his shihtzu is going to have puppies soon! He is more than willing to give one of the puppies to us! However, we do not know how to ship the puppy over here... and if that is going to entail more costs than simply getting one here plus, the puppy might be too stressed out with the long travel. Anyone here have any idea what are the appropriate steps /requirements when shipping a puppy (yes, the puppy will be registered) from manila to the US? How much will this normally cost? Is this ok for the puppy? I'm really afraid the puppy will not be treated very well in the plane... please advise. Also, if anyone know any good/reputable breeders in or near the OH area, please refer me. It was hard looking for breeders around my area and I am not very sure who to trust given that we are relatively new to the place. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!
